Does anyone else have a kid obsessed with Thomas the Train? My daughter loves her pink and purple princesses but she's also in love with Thomas and his friends. Of course, it doesn't get any better than Rosie (one of Thomas' friends) because she's purple and a train. Did you know that Eugene has a train park? Alas, the train isn't purple for all those fellow Rosie lovers out there but it is blue so Thomas enthusiasts rejoice! It's awesome and kind of a hidden gem. It's at the end of a dead-end street near multiple sets of train tracks so you might hear or even see a train while there!

Love/Hate: We LOVE the train. If your tot is as into trains as mine is then this will be an instant favorite. Also awesome is the real merry-go-round. A lot of parks have replaced their merry-go-rounds with modern spinning circles now, which are cool in their own right but not the same as those classic nausea-inducing real merry-go-rounds. Not so great is the neighborhood. I don't think I'd feel comfortable at this park without some mom friends with me. Bring a friend and enjoy a day of toddler-conducted train rides!
Bonus Train Tip:
If your kid really likes trains try the Oregon Pacific Railroad up in Portland. Rides are only $5 (2 and under are free), start at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center (aka more trains to see!) and go into a wildlife refuge and back. Super awesome and you might even see a deer in the refuge if you look close.
